Global employment and payroll platform, Remote, launched a new HR information system (HRIS) last week designed specifically for remote-first teams operating across international borders. The move comes as more companies look to hire overseas, according to its own 2024 Global Workforce Report, which found that 71% of employers have “recruited outside their national borders” in the last year. The release of Remote HRIS marks a significant expansion for the global payroll platform, which has been providing employer of record (EOR) and payroll services since 2019. “It’s literally everything you need to do administration for…the life cycle of an employee,” said Remote cofounder and CEO Job van der Voort, pointing to onboarding tools for background checks and verification, contracts and agreements, and device management; solutions for employees like managing PTO or public holidays in different countries, time tracking, shift management; and finally, help with managing employee exits whether they quit, retire, or are fired.
