It’s that time of year again! HR Brew periodically checks in with real HR pros to see what sorts of tech programs, software, and platforms are really making the work of work better.
We heard from HR pros who wanted to shout out their human capital management systems and payroll platforms—because helping enable the workforce and paying employees is core to the HR function.
Catherine Magne, VP of HR, Lasso
BambooHR is a favorite, but honestly, any solid system that acts as a true hub for employee data. When you can see everything—comp, PTO, job titles, manager relationships, benefits, [and] performance — all in one place it makes you so much more strategic because you see the big picture.
Siya Thakkar, people coordinator, Go City
BambooHR—it’s made data management way less painful, especially when working with distributed teams. It’s clean, user-friendly, and gives me the info I need without making me feel like I’m decoding ancient ruins. Shout out to whoever made the new total rewards feature. Lifesaver.
Over the last decade, we'’ve seen remarkable advancements in the HR tech landscape, and the progress has been incredibly promising. However, the goal of having a centralized, world-class HR platform that seamlessly integrates all aspects of talent management is still on the horizon. That said, I'm optimistic that with the continuous innovation from top players, this vision will soon become a reality.
HR pros also value tech that helps with learning and tech with good analytic capabilities that help people tell stories with data to impact the work.

Workday Learning has made a huge difference in how we are serving learning and creating paths for our organization. We recently deployed it a month ago.
Textio, the inclusive communications platform that helps remove bias and other unhelpful language from messaging, especially in recruiting and performance management, also received a couple of shout outs recently, as the company works to leverage AI to help remove the “vibe check” from HR processes.

One HR tech product that has made my life significantly easier is Textio, particularly its capabilities around inclusive language and writing enhancement for job postings and internal communications.
The most valuable aspect of Textio is how it helps remove subtle biases from communication, ensuring that what we write resonates more broadly across different demographics. Textio’s AI-driven insights make it easier to identify potential pitfalls in language that might deter candidates from underrepresented groups or create unintended exclusivity.
Rocki Howard, chief people and equity officer, Textio
I might be biased, but as an HR Advisor, I love using Textio. It has been a game-changer. It ensures our managers are delivering equitable, actionable feedback, even when I’m not there to guide them. For example, Textio helps us remove bias from our job descriptions and performance reviews, ensuring that we’re setting people up for success from the start. I believe in how it leads to more inclusive, supportive communication across the company. We aren’t just building the product, we are top users of the product.
