SAP launches SmartRecruiters hiring platform integration into SuccessFactors

SAP acquired the hiring software in September.

less than 3 min read

Big news from enterprise software giant SAP this week, as the company announced a new integration between its core HR product, SAP SuccessFactors, and SmartRecruiters, an AI-powered ATS platform the company acquired last September.

The Wednesday announcement is the latest effort by SAP to integrate that ATS into its broader HCM suite. SAP’s integration helps unify hiring workflows, HR data, and AI tools like its copilot, Joule, with SmartRecruiters’ Winston, connecting talent architecture, hiring decisions, skills intelligence, and workforce planning into one system, according to the company.

HR departments and recruiting teams are navigating the challenges that come with widespread enterprise AI adoption. Fragmented systems, complicated workflows, and incongruent data can impede the promise of AI-powered productivity. These systems, after all, are only as good as the data powering them.

The new SAP-SmartRecruiters integration connects recruiting workflows directly in SuccessFactors, and it brings hiring data from SmartRecruiters into the SuccessFactors platform, so the hiring metrics can be contextualized and leveraged in real time.

Additionally, the company pointed to a single login and a unified navigation amongst the products. Customers utilizing SAP’s SuccessFactors Recruiting solutions will not be obligated to move to SmartRecruiters, but the company noted “simple and flexible integration paths” for existing customers.

The announcement comes amid a larger shift in HR technology as people teams align their HR systems inside broader AI orchestration. Employers are connecting talent acquisition data with skills intelligence, talent development, workforce planning, and leveraging new AI-powered tools; their vendors require well-connected systems to make that possible.
