Salesforce has teamed up with the Department of Defense SkillBridge program to help equip service members transitioning out of the military with skills for the civilian workforce, the company announced on Sept 14.

The Missionforce Military Fellowship is a 12-week program that helps service members translate and build skills for AI and technology jobs through hands-on training and mentorship. Those who complete the program will receive a Salesforce certification and a chance at full-time roles with Missionforce, the company’s platform for defense and intelligence organizations.

Just days before the announcement, President Trump signed an executive order aimed at helping veterans more quickly transition to jobs in the private sector.

This new initiative is the latest military commitment from Salesforce, which partners with programs including Hiring Our Heroes to support service members, veterans, and military spouses in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Vetforce, its employee resource group, supports veterans and military families.

The transition to civilian life can be difficult, but several tech employers, including Microsoft, Amazon, and Oracle, provide training programs to help veterans build new skills for new careers.

Other companies, including Capital One and USAA, offer their own programs for veterans in transition. USAA, a banking and insurance company servicing US military members and their families, pledged $500 million by 2030 to help military veterans and spouses achieve financial security and career opportunities, in addition to two 18-month fellowships, Fortune reported. Capital One offers a free skills translator tool, a partnership with Hiring Our Heroes, and an 11-week corporate fellowship program.

“AI is changing how national security organizations operate, but technology alone doesn’t create readiness,” Kendall Collins, CEO of Missionforce at Salesforce, said in a statement. “In the agentic era, the expertise of our service members—their understanding of the mission, judgment under pressure, and ability to lead through complexity—has never been more important.”
