Jelena Djordjevic, VP of people, Thumbtack
Our compensation planning tool Pave has been really instrumental for our team. Their systems-based compensation planning enables us to have more visibility and transparency, so we can ensure pay equity among our employees and have one cohesive tool. They’ve built a great experience that is easy to use both for employees and people teams. They are a very feedback-oriented company, readily taking our feedback to help improve their product and inform their future roadmap. They have helped us scale a small compensation team through technology, and led to a much better planning experience for leaders at the company.
Esther Contreras, US director of people, Cleverbridge
Culture Amp has been a great tool for us. We currently use their development and engagement modules and found them to be very beneficial. As someone with an industrial-organizational psychology background, I greatly appreciate the amount of research that goes into the tool.
LaDavia Drane, global head of inclusion, diversity, and equity, Amazon Web Services
I truly stand by the saying that data rules all. We have a tool called Amazon Connections that gives employees a confidential and effective way to give feedback on the workplace and help shape the future of the company. By asking employees quick questions every day, Connections leverages real time information to learn more about their experiences and introduce positive changes with internal business partners around the world.
In Q1 2023, 90% of employees indicated that they feel included on their teams at AWS. But we also must dive deeper to ensure there aren’t any gaps among individuals from underrepresented groups. That’s why one of our goals is to achieve similarly favorable inclusion sentiment among AWS’s employees of all genders and ethnicities by 2025 where self-ID is available. Without tools like Connections coupled with analytics capabilities to surface meaningful insights, we wouldn’t be able to track our progress and truly advocate for the needs of underrepresented groups.

One HR tech product that has significantly enhanced my efficiency is ADP. Its comprehensive platform has revolutionized the way I manage various aspects of HR. With ADP, I’ve gained access to an integrated solution that seamlessly handles employee data, time and attendance tracking, payroll processing, performance reviews, policy acknowledgments, and even boasts a Learning Management System (LMS) for annual training and professional development.
Having all these functionalities under one roof has not only streamlined my workflow but also improved accuracy and data integrity. I no longer need to juggle multiple systems or spend hours manually entering and reconciling data. ADP’s user-friendly interface has made it easier for both me and our employees to navigate various HR tasks, leading to increased engagement and smoother operations. In essence, ADP has become a one-stop shop that simplifies the complexities of HR management, freeing up my time to focus on strategic initiatives and employee engagement rather than administrative tasks. It’s been a game-changer that continues to make my HR life much smoother and more efficient.

Benepass is arguably our administrator for more of our flexible benefits. So it’s where you’re going to go to get reimbursed for your gym membership or where you’re going to get reimbursed for your telephone and your learning and development budget…We shouldn’t be prescriptive, but we should allow our employees to live their best lives. What we do often is—through Benepass—we open up different categories where the money is eligible to be spent, and that allows our employees to do with it what they wish.

The G Suite…I’m thinking about my customer here, which is usually an HR team of one. They don’t have a bunch of tools, and they don’t have a bunch of money. If I just have access to G Suite, I can look at my data. I can segment my data. I can send out surveys. I can bring that survey back in. I can build decks to communicate. I can write narratives to communicate. I have chat. I have everything I need, and I think for small businesses that don’t have a lot to invest, that’s like a one-size-fits-all for many things that we would need.
