The Business of Benefits: Mental health add-ons at Vasion
Chief People Officer Melissa Knotts said her team wanted to invest in an offering that the entire global workforce could take advantage of, regardless of location.

The print automation company Vasion is currently “prioritizing growth,” its chief people officer, Melissa Knotts said. This growth “depends on a strong employee base, particularly managers.”
In order to better support the company’s growing employee population, Vasion recently added mental health benefits from the platform Modern Health to its total rewards package. All of Vasion’s 425 employees now have access to six coaching and six therapy sessions, in addition to offerings such as community circles and enhanced employee assistance programs, she said.
Knotts said her team wanted to invest in an offering that the entire global workforce could take advantage of, regardless of location—with specific support for managers. While Vasion is headquartered in St. George, Utah, it has offices in Europe and Australia, as well.
Knotts told us more about the benefits.

Explain the business case for this benefit.
AI is transforming how teams work, but it also creates new pressures as employees navigate constant change and upskilling. Offering a dedicated mental health add-on benefit is essential to help employees stay resilient, engaged, and supported during this transition.
The business case was presented to executive leadership in a presentation that included pricing, metrics, and partners.
Modern Health was pitched as a mental well-being platform that proactively supports all global Vasion employees, with a focus on coaching to help employees and managers (this was a huge selling point for our CEO who strongly believes in coaching).
